Smith Set to Challenge 2017 with GEMAR Balloons - Team Lorini

English rider to continue with Honda in World Supersport

Kyle Smith will join Frosinone based squad Gemar Balloons -Team Lorini Honda in the 2017 FIM Supersport World Championship. Smith enjoyed success in his first two seasons of WorldSSP claiming race wins, podiums and fastest laps aboard the Honda CBR 600 RR. The Brit ended his 2016 season on a high, winning the last race of the season in Qatar. He now looks forward to new beginnings with the Italian team, knowing his pace is consistent enough to compete for the top standings in 2017.

“I'm very excited to join GEMAR Balloons -Team Lorini Honda,” said Smith. “We've been in talks for some time now and I have been really impressed by the Lorini brothers’ attitude. Having raced against their bike this year I know they have put together a very strong package. 2017 will be my third year in World Supersport and I feel I'm riding at my best ever. My goal now is to try and win the Championship and I'd like to thank GEMAR Balloons and Lorini Honda plus WILSport and all my personal sponsors for their trust in me.”

Kyle Smith will have his first opportunity to race his GEMAR Balloons -Team Lorini Honda at Phillip Island in February, for the first round of the 2017 FIM Supersport World Championship.
